Nimbus mk3 build

Hi everyone, I'm new on here so here goes. I've built my nimbus hull using balsa strip and I'm now at the painting stage. My issue is where can i find a triangular rubber strip to attach to the bow. Sarik Hobbies shows a photo of one on their site. Any ideas anyone ?

Hi David and welcome to the forum.

Cornwall do a lot of fender strip, some of which are half round, which might work equally well for you. Check out this search and maybe give them a ring:

Have a look at this site, I've used them for bits for my real narrow boat, very helpful with a ride range.

Hi David,

I hope you had a chance to look at the IOM Boxkite thread regarding your bow rubber.

I think they are also carved from old Flip Flops

david, i have some hollow D section rubber belting that i bought for my last Tyne 1;12 scale lifeboat, but both were too bug for what i needed.

the one on the left of pic is 15 x 15 mm profil;e, and the right hand coil is 13 x 13 mm.

if you only want a short piece i'll cut a length off for you but if the whole roll is needed of ether, then i would have to charge…each roll cost me about £7.50 plus post, but i am happy to accept a bottle of australian red wine as a barter, lol

Hi guys, wow thank you all for your replies. some great pointers on line. I`m learning more every day.

Neil, thank you for your kind offer to send me a small piece of rubber. My Nimbus bow measures about10mm x 110mm. See pic. Your 13 x 13mm rubber sounds ideal for my boat as I could trim any excess to fit.

I guess i would need to private message you for my postal details.
